We believe that all young people are entitled to the highest quality education. Our Service is dedicated to making sure that Black, Minority Ethnic and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children get the best out of their education.

Our Aims

Cambridgeshire Race Equality and Diversity Service

The Service aims to:

Improve access to education for, and raise the achievement and attainment of, black, minority ethnic, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children and young people.

Improve the active participation of children, young people and families from BME, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller groups.

To achieve these aims we will:

Contribute to aligned working within CYPS in order to build mainstream capacity to narrow the achievement and attainment gap for children and young people from BME, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller groups.

Support senior leadership teams in schools and settings to develop and evaluate the equality and diversity dimension of their leadership and management role.

Support the development of an inclusive curriculum that values diversity.

Provide guidance for schools and settings in developing policy and practice relating to equality, diversity and community cohesion
