The CDrom exploring Cambridge Midsummer Fair has won an award from E2Bn. It tied for First place in the Use of Digital Assets within the Classroom category, the award certificate and prize was presented by Russell Prue at the E2Bn conference, Wyboston Lakes on the 6th July 2005.
The CDrom explores all aspects of Midsummer Fair, from its historical roots, nearly 800 years ago, to the giant mechanic marvels that are today's exhilarating rides. It features over a hundred photographs and includes video clips, music and sound effects, spoken narration, a graph making feature and a quiz.
The CDrom has been used in schools across Cambridgeshire and, as a result, support materials are available on the Cambridgeshire Schools' Portal (www.ccceducation.net ~ search for Midsummer Fair or visit the main project page.
It can be bought from the Cambridgeshire Race Equality and Diversity Service, Team for Traveller Education. Prices are £15 (single user licence) and £40 (multiple user licence).
