Community Support
CREDS Home School Liaison Officers (HSLOs) and Bilingual Support Officers (BSOs), in partnership with schools and other agencies, have set up various courses for parents and community members. For example, OCN accredited Sewing, Making Story Sacks, Card making, Basic English Classes, Parenting Skills, First aid and Drugs Awareness Sessions.
 
Some members of the Central Team work in partnership with BME voluntary groups in order to increase their capacity for self-development. BSOs, HSLOs and other staff identify needs, encourage participation and provide support. Schools wishing to recommend Black and Minority Ethnic parents to the project related activities may wish to contact CREDS on 01223 568841.
